Who we are

Travelex N.V. ("Travelex"), registered in Amsterdam and based in Waddixveen, Coenecoop 530 2741 PS , Netherlands, registered in the Trade Register of the Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce under number 33143504, VAT number: NL 001546223B01.

Travelex uses the following trade names: Travelex N.V., GWK, GWK Travelex, Currency Services, Credit and Deposit Box and Change Express.

Use of the Website

This website, www.gwktravelex.nl (the "Website") is operated by Travelex Netherlands NV ("Travelex" or "us" or "our") on behalf of itself and its holding ‑and subsidiary companies (together referred to as the "Travelex Group"). Access is granted only in accordance with Travelex'‑s General Terms and Conditions. Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Website. By using the Website, you indicate that you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, please do not use the Website.

Copyright notice

Copyright in works contained on the Website, including but not limited to all software, designs, text, graphics, sound recordings, animations and video clips, are owned or licensed by Travelex, except as expressly stated otherwise. You may access the Website for your own use of the facilities provided. You may not otherwise make copies of, transmit, display, perform, distribute (whether or not for a fee), licence, modify, store or otherwise use the Website or its content. You may, however, print copies and download extracts from pages of the Website for personal reference purposes. You may not modify in any way the paper or digital copies of Website Content that you have printed off or downloaded. Nor may you use images, sound recordings, animations or video clips separately from any accompanying text. You may not use any Website Content for commercial purposes without Travelex's prior written consent.

If you print, copy or download any part of the Website in breach of these Terms and Conditions, your right to use the Website will terminate immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the Website you have made.

The provision of links to the Website (whether to the home page or otherwise, and including framing) is permitted only with the prior written consent of Travelex.

Brand communication

"TravelexTM " and "The Worldwide Money LogoTM " are registered trademarks of the Travelex Group. Other occurring words or symbols used to indicate the origin of goods and services are trademarks of their respective owners.

Web content and materials

The information, materials and services on the Website are subject to change from time to time without notice. Not all products and services are available in all geographical areas. Your eligibility for certain products and services is at the ultimate discretion of Travelex and is subject to acceptance by Travelex. Travelex may discontinue or change the information, products or services described in these Terms and Conditions at any time. All dated information is published only as of the date specified and Travelex accepts no obligation or responsibility for updating or amending such information. Furthermore, by offering information, products or services through the Website, Travelex is not asking anyone to use that information, products or services in jurisdictions where the provision of such information, products or services is prohibited by law.

Links to other sites

Links to third-party websites are provided solely as pointers to information on topics or services that might be useful to users of the Website. Travelex has no control over the content on those other websites. Links to other sites do not imply any responsibility for the opinions, ideas, products, information or services offered on those sites, or any statement regarding the content on those sites. These links are provided solely for your convenience. You are responsible for complying with the terms of use of those sites. Travelex makes no express or implied warranties with respect to the content on those sites.

Termination

Travelex may terminate your access to and use of any part of the Website at any time without notice if you breach any of the provisions of these Terms and Conditions or for any other reason. Travelex reserves the right to discontinue the operation of the Website at any time without notice.

Reservation of foreign currency

These Terms and Conditions apply to the internet ordering service offered by Travelex through the Website (the "Service") and . The Service consists of an online reservation facility for foreign currency banknotes, hereinafter referred to as "Travel Money".

 

Use of the Service

The Service is only available to persons over 18 years of age who reside in and access the Service from the Netherlands. The Service may only be used to reserve Travel Money for holiday ‑or business travel, and not for speculative, investment ‑or other purposes. By reserving Travel Money with us, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by ‑the Terms and Conditions and to ‑comply with all applicable laws ‑and regulations.

The Service is only available for the currencies listed at any time on the online order screen. All reserved orders are subject to a minimum value of €50 per person per reservation.

Currency availability may be subject to further monetary limits, currency exchange restrictions, and customer compliance with all applicable laws ‑and regulations, including those relating to anti-money laundering and torrism financing. [No frequent flyer points are provided in conjunction with the use of this Service].

Note: Rates available on the Website are set separately from those available in-store and may therefore differ. You cannot get our Website rates in-store unless you have pre-booked your currency through the Website.

 

Making a reservation

When you place your reservation, you will be given the choice of picking up your reserved order at the establishments listed at any time on the online reservation screen.

You can order up to 14 days before the pick-up date. USD and GBP will be ready for collection after 30 minutes, provided we receive and subsequently confirm your reserved order no later than 15:00 CET. All other currencies will be ready for collection after 3 days**, provided we receive and then confirm your reserved order no later than 13:00 CET.

**Our 3-day commitment applies to reservation orders placed on Monday to Thursday. If a currency is ordered before 13:00 CET on Friday to 13:00 on Sunday, it will be ready for collection the following Wednesday.

To make a reservation, follow the instructions on the reservation screen. Once you get to the reservation screen, you should complete your reservation within 20 minutes. Otherwise, your session may expire and you will have to restart the reservation process. Until you click "Reserve my currency now" on the reservation details screen, you can correct errors in your reservation order. You do not need to enter payment details on your online reservation form. Your reservation is not a purchase. You also pay for the reserved order only when you pick it up.

Exchange rates: the exchange rates we quote online are real-time rates and are subject to change. The online rate valid on the booking date will be charged to you, unless the exchange rate at the branch at the time of collection is more favourable to you. We will then charge this more favourable rate.

We reserve the right to request further information from you at any time to enable us to finalise your reservation and/or comply with regulatory requirements. By placing a reservation, you confirm that the details provided in the reservation are correct in all respects. The system will display a reservation screen showing the details of your reservation. This confirms receipt of your reservation. You will receive an e-mail confirming that your reservation has been accepted. This is explicitly not a contract. The agreement only comes into effect when you collect and pay for the reserved order. Please print a copy of the reservation screen for your records, and print the confirmation email ‑or keep it in a safe place, as this is the only copy of your reserved .

Travelex may at any time, for any reason, refuse to carry out your request to book and or enter into a contract.

 

Collecting your Travel Money

You must pay for your Travel Money when you pick it up. Depending on your method of payment, charges may apply (see below). Reserved orders can only be collected by the person named on the reservation form at the ‑Travelex branch listed in your confirmation email‑. Reserved orders can only be picked up during the opening hours of the pick-up branch. Details regarding the opening hours of the pick-up branch will be passed on to you at the time of booking and can be found on the Website. Please ensure that you have sufficient time to collect your reserved order before you leave.

At the time of collecting your reserved order, you will be required to present a valid passport or European ID card to identify yourself. In order to comply with its anti-money laundering obligations and other obligations including Travelex internal risk ‑and fraud policy, Travelex reserves the right to request your identification and or to ask additional questions in order to comply with its mandatory statutory customer due diligence. Travelex also reserves the right to make a copy of your identification and debit card. The name on a debit card used to make the purchase must match that on the identification documents used

 

Cost

The Service itself is free of charge. You pay for your reserved order when you pick it up. You can pay for reserved orders with most common credit or debit cards issued in the Netherlands and registered in your name, provided the balance on them is sufficient for your reserved order and any applicable fees.

Credit or pre-paid debit cards may be ‑subject to a handling ‑or advance fee from the card issuer. If you choose to pay with Maestro, no handling ‑or advance fee will be charged.

 

Purchase without reservation

You can make your currency purchases without reservations at Travelex branches.

In order to comply with its anti-money laundering and other obligations, including Travelex internal risk ‑and fraud policies, Travelex reserves the right to request your identification and or ask additional questions in connection with legally required customer due diligence. Travelex also reserves the right to make a copy of your identification and debit card. The name on a debit card used to make the purchase must match that on the identification documents used. Travelex may at any time, for any reason, refuse to execute your request to enter into a contract.

The tariffs applied in the Store are clearly visible. These rates may differ from the rates on the Website.

 

Customer due diligence

Travelex is required by law to conduct business with integrity and to conduct client due diligence. On the basis of the results of the client investigation, Travelex may decide not to enter into an agreement with you or to terminate an agreement with you. It may be that such refusal results from a previous report of unusual transactions or that Travelex considers for some other reason that entering into or continuing a relationship with a (potential) client goes against the policy of conducting a business with integrity. Travelex is usually unable to disclose this, as it could potentially (directly or indirectly) reveal to you that a report of an unusual transaction has been made (by us or others). The law prohibits disclosing such information about (the report of) an unusual transaction. Failure to provide this information constitutes one of the exceptions to the right of inspection that you can exercise.

 

Currency buyback guarantee

With Travelex's currency buy-back guarantee, you can order more money. For a fee, payable at the branch, you can exchange the paper money, with a maximum counter value of EUR 2,500, that you have left over on your return from your trip with the currency buy-back guarantee up to the deadline specified on the transaction receipt after purchase, without any possible exchange rate difference or commission. Please keep the original transaction receipt. If you want to make use of the buy-back, you must present the original transaction receipt. Certain currencies are excluded from the buy-back guarantee.

Countdown offer

A "Countdown Offer" is an online promotion from Travelex that is available for a short period of time (for example, a one-hour sterling rate promotion or an hour-and-a-half dollar rate promotion) (also referred to as "Currency Happy Hour"), with a clock (the "Timer") on the Website counting down for the offer.

Travelex may from time to time make Countdown Offers to you on the Website, subject to the following terms and conditions.

  1. A Countdown Offer only applies to online orders on the Website during the time frame indicated on the Timer. Due to the time required to upload quotes to the Website, the Countdown Offer may be available on the Website up to a maximum of 10 minutes before the Timer starts running, and up to a maximum of 5 minutes after the Timer ends. This is to ensure that the Countdown Offer is available for the entire period of the promotion.
  2. A Countdown Offer may apply to more than one currency at the same time, subject to the time limits specified by the Timer.
  3. To qualify for the Countdown offer rate, you must enter the amount of the specific currency for which the Countdown offer applies on the order screen - the action rate will automatically apply to your order if you complete your order by clicking on "Buy my currency now" within the timeframe specified by the Timer.
  4. If you have not clicked "Buy my currency now" before the Timer expires, you will receive the following message: "There has been a currency change. Please check your order summary as it may have changed." If you wish to proceed with your order, you will be charged the new rate and not the promotional rate under the Countdown Offer.

 

Promotional codes

From time to time Travelex or its affiliates may provide you with a special Promotion Code for use on the Website. Some Promotion Codes are only valid for a limited time. Action Codes cannot be used in combination. A maximum of one Promotion Code can be used per transaction.

Travelex makes no guarantees as to the availability of Promotion Codes or the terms of those offers.

If you received an Action Code from an affiliate, you will find details of that offer in the terms and conditions of that affiliate.

 

Your right to cancel

You can cancel your reserved order free of charge at any time up to the time of collection by contacting the ‑Travelex branch specified in your confirmation email‑. ‑If you have not cancelled ‑your reserved order and do not collect your reserved order from the selected Travelex branch within 72 hours of the collection time, your reserved order will be marked as not collected and will be cancelled.

Corrections and complaints

If you wish to make changes to your order after you have clicked the "Reserve my currency now" button on the reservation details screen, please contact the ‑Travelex branch listed in your confirmation email‑.

Travelex has a complaints procedure. For comments or complaints, please contact us at klacht@travelex.com. We will communicate with you in Dutch.

Travelex is registered with the Financial Services Complaints Institute (Kifid) under number 100.000367.

Third-party rights

If you place a reservation for Travel Money, you do so in your own name. Third parties may not invoke these terms and conditions or enforce any rights in respect of this agreement.

Personal data and security of payment

We will collect, process and use personal data that you provide or otherwise provide to us when you place an order. Please read the Privacy Statement for details on how personal data is collected, stored and used by us. If you have purchased Travelex products and services, the Privacy Statement forms part of your agreement with Travelex.

Limitation of our liability

All content and services on or available through the Website are provided "as is", and Travelex makes no representations or warranties whatsoever about the Website or the content thereon. In particular, Travelex makes no warranty whatsoever as to the accuracy, appropriateness, reliability, completeness, performance, suitability, absence of viruses or timeliness of any content or services on the Website. In addition, but without limiting this exclusion of liability, the information services on the Website are intended for use by holiday ‑or business travellers or persons or companies wishing to make foreign currency payments, and may not be used for speculation or investment purposes. These information services and other content on the Website are not intended as advice on which reliance should be placed. We accept no responsibility or liability if visitors to the Website or persons informed of any part of the content thereon have relied on such services. In addition, we make no guarantees that you will receive the services for which you register.

We exercise reasonable care and skill in providing the Service. However, we will not be liable to you in the following cases:

  1. if you fail to provide us with correct information when placing your order;
  2. if we are unable to fulfil one or more of our obligations due to failure of technical systems or for other reasons beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to war, terrorism, government measures, natural disasters and labour disputes;
  3. damage to your computer equipment as a result of using the Website or the Service;
  4. loss of information or unauthorised use of data as a result of your use of encrypted systems below our recommended level; or
  5. indirect or consequential losses, claims or damages suffered by you, or arising as a result of your use of, or delay in or inability to use, the Website or the Service, from any cause whatsoever.

Change of conditions

  1. We may, with respect to future orders, modify, suspend or withdraw the Website, the Service and these Terms and Conditions at any time, with immediate effect, and without notice and liability to you. If we revise these Terms and Conditions, we will post the revised version on the Website. You are expected to read our Terms and Conditions regularly to take note of any changes made by us as they are binding on you. By using the Website or the Service or by placing reservations after we have changed these terms, you agree to the changes. However, the changes do not apply to orders placed before those changes.

Law and jurisdiction

Our legal relationship is governed by Dutch law. Disputes we cannot resolve by mutual agreement will be settled by the Dutch courts. You can also submit a dispute to the Financial Services Complaints Institute (Kifid).
